The seismic qualification of a high-voltage bushing (Equipment Under Test, EUT) was performed in accordance with IEC 61463 (2016) and IEEE Std. 693TM (2018) to demonstrate structural integrity and functional compliance under defined seismic loading. The EUT, characterized as wall bushing with a length of 15 m, was subjected to qualification-level excitation at the ESA HYDRA vibration facility operated by ETS. The facility was selected based on its capability to reproduce the required response spectra and displacement demands for large-scale electrical equipment.
Test execution was carried out by European Test Services in cooperation with IABG. IABG ensured ISO/IEC 17025 (2018) accredited testing, defined the seismic input motions, and performed post-test data evaluation. The applied excitation profile, control strategy, instrumentation layout, and acceptance criteria are described in a required test plan. Measured accelerations and strains, and displacements are evaluated against standard-specific qualification requirements to confirm compliance.
