VCCN minisymposium
Designing and furnishing laboratories
How do you prevent design choices from causing problems in your laboratory later on?
Realizing a laboratory requires tough choices. Decisions regarding design, engineering, and air technology have a direct impact on use, safety, and flexibility. In practice, it turns out that early coordination makes the difference between a well-functioning lab and a design with limitations.
During this VCCN mini-symposium, you will gain insight into how to better substantiate these choices and how design and practice align. With contributions from both the design world and the field, it will become clear what works and what does not.
This mini-symposium is intended for professionals involved in the realization and use of laboratories who want to get design choices right the first time. FHI members can participate in this meeting at the VCCN member rate.
In addition to presentations, there is ample opportunity to exchange experiences with colleagues in the field. Midway through the meeting, dinner will be served in the form of a sandwich buffet. We will conclude the day with informal drinks.
The mini-symposium takes place at the RIVM at the Poonawalla Science Park in Bilthoven.
The program
- Rob Kanbier (KuiperCompagnons)
Designing a laboratory is not a straight line, but a well-thought-out funnel process. Sharp choices are required at every stage to prevent delays and costly mistakes.
In this presentation, Rob Kanbier shows how to approach complex design processes in a structured way and translate them into smart, suitable solutions that work, today and tomorrow. - Derek Visser (Kropman Contamination Control)
A well-designed air management system is essential for safe and efficient laboratories. But how do you ensure the right balance between air technology, architectural design, and installations?
Derek Visser demonstrates how to optimally set up air management, from simple labs to complex high-containment environments. Using practical examples, he discusses common pitfalls and how to avoid them. - More information about the third speaker will follow soon.
Do you want to make better-informed design choices and prevent problems at a later stage? Then register before May 20.
