ISO 13855 “Safety of machinery – Positioning of protective devices with respect to the approach speeds of parts of the human body” has been updated.
The standard delves deeper into the various calculation methods and offers practical solutions for various applications, such as the dynamic approach of moving applications.
This revision of the standard has consequences for the calculation of safety distances for light curtains and safety scanners, but also has consequences for the positioning of these components, for example.
The standard has also been expanded. New additions include: reaching under fences and light curtains, placement of reset buttons and control devices, access through doors, etc.
This presentation will primarily explain the changes in a practical way. Numerous examples will be provided, supported by clear illustrations. What has changed? How do you calculate the correct distance from now on? And what else should we consider?
