The precision of the output signal of a power converter is a determining factor for the performance of high-tech applications, such as semiconductor lithography machines and medical (MRI) scanners. In both cases, a power converter that produces too much noise or delivers an inaccurate signal would make the desired operation almost impossible. In the first case, the desired positional accuracy is not achieved, in the second case, images are unusable due to a too poor signal-to-noise ratio.

In this presentation we will discuss what is needed to realize high accuracy power converters. By means of practical examples you will get an idea of the challenges. We will discuss methods to improve the accuracy of the produced (power) signal and give examples of recent results in this area.
