Romex BV was founded in 1969 and is one of the oldest and best-known suppliers to the electronics industry. The Romex webshop contains approximately 8,000 items that are used in the production, assembly, repair and testing of electronic components. With the One Stop Shopping model, Romex meets the expectations of its demanding customers in the high-tech industry.

The Romex product range consists of, Weller soldering stations, ESD safe products, Cleanroom supplies, test and measuring equipment.

Companies active in the assembly of electronics have to deal with many different production steps, each with their own specific requirements for tools and machines.

For example, the printed circuit boards often first need to be cleaned, after which they are provided with solder paste. For machine or manual assembly, items such as fluxes, solders, solder pastes, cleaners, putties, creams and solder wire are available for both lead-free and lead-containing applications.

It is well known that ESD (Electro Static Discharge) static discharge can be fatal to ESD sensitive components during this process. In addition to advice, training and inspections, Romex offers its customers an extensive product program with ESD floors, clothing, shoes, wristbands, table mats, packaging materials, transport equipment and tools for so-called ESD safe working. Romex has its own configurator especially for ESD Furniture.

In addition to being ESD safe, the production of high-quality electronics must often take place in a clean space. These so-called Cleanrooms provide a clean and dust-free space. Romex has a lot of experience in supplying these cleanrooms and also has a complete package of clothing, cleaning products, cloths, cotton swabs, adhesive mats, filters, maintenance, packaging, furniture and tools that are suitable for use in these rooms.

For the assembly of electronics, Romex also supplies the necessary equipment for small-scale SMD assembly such as screen printing machines, P&P, Pick and Place machines, both manual and fully automatic, or placement machines and reflow ovens, both stationary and in-line.

After or during the assembly of the electronics, it is desirable that they are checked for production errors using, for example, magnifying lamps, inspection microscopes and cameras. To solve and repair the problems found, professional soldering and desoldering equipment, tweezers and other tools are often used. Romex is the main dealer of Weller soldering stations and maintains stock for the Dutch market. In addition to sound advice, our specialists also provide soldering training on location.

In a final step, the fully assembled electronics are often tested using a pin bed or test fixture containing test probes to ensure the necessary contact between the printed circuit board and the measuring instrumentation. Romex offers services for both In-Circuit (ICT) and Functional Test Systems (FCT). To connect the test fixtures with the test systems, it is very important for reliability that a Mass Interconnect Interface is used. In addition to advice, Romex offers turn-key solutions for simple to very complex off- and in-line test solutions with its program.
