The EU Data Act, which will take effect from September 2025, aims to give users (such as end customers) access to and control over the data generated by their products (machines). For machine manufacturers, this primarily means that they must be transparent about data, grant users access to the raw data generated by their machines, and only use customer data themselves if contractually agreed to.
