From instrument to knowledge: how to organize the digitalization of your laboratory?

On a high level it sounds rather straightforward: you perform your scientific experiments in the lab, collect the data from the instruments, store them in a central database and knowledge is derived that drives the development of products.

The reality that you face in the lab is much more complex: you will have to consider optimizing workflows, integrating instruments, making sense of the different software solutions, dealing with your IT department, ensuring lab security, FAIRification of your data, coping with software updates and new developments, and finally translating all this into a sustainable IT landscape.

Using a screening lab as an example we will show how to build the bridge between science and IT to develop effective solutions for the lab.
