This time, the IO-Link day will be opened with a lecture by Arjan Rietberg, OT Technical Engineer at FrieslandCampina. He emphasizes the importance of IO-Link in the dairy industry: A dairy factory consists of 71 percent valves, 19 percent instrumentation and then a bit of motor control. Instrumentation at FrieslandCampina has been IO-Link for years. Since 2020, the valves have also been on IO-Link and it is possible to connect an entire dairy factory to IO-Link. Three aspects that characterize IO-Link and are of great importance to the dairy industry are: 'Cost-effective, hygienic, plug and play'.
