Ergonomics in the Lab: Efficient and Healthy Working in the Laboratory

Good ergonomics in the laboratory are essential for the health, safety and efficiency of employees. This presentation highlights the main ergonomic risks in laboratory environments, such as repetitive actions, unfavorable working postures and prolonged standing. Using scientific research, practical examples and guidelines, strategies are discussed to optimize workplaces ergonomically. The aim is to promote well-being, reduce musculoskeletal complaints and increase productivity.

Erwin Speklé

Dr. Erwin Speklé is a registered ergonomist with Arbo Unie and a senior guest researcher at the Amsterdam UMC. He has extensive experience and expertise in the field of physical ergonomics in laboratory environments. His focus is on preventing complaints of the musculoskeletal system, with special attention to the arm, neck and shoulder region. In his work he focuses on optimizing workplaces and reducing work-related complaints, with the aim of creating a healthier and more sustainable working environment.
