10.00 – 10.25

Digitalisation in mechanical engineering and other industrial sectors is bringing more and more challenges and opportunities. For example, cloud applications are becoming an increasingly important part of business processes, and higher demands are being placed on machines that not only have to fulfil local functions, but also have to be connected to cloud-based systems.

In this context, it is crucial to find ways to make the transition to digitalization without requiring extensive IT knowledge. This can be done, for example, by using IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) gateways that connect to fieldbuses and at the same time offer simple programming options for controlling the hardware. By means of these gateways, you can not only manage the local logic, but also communicate with cloud services via APIs (Application Programming Interfaces).

During the presentation by Erwin Rodenburgh from ABB and Dennis van den Bos from Blockbax, we will look at a practical case together that clearly shows how you can get started with these technologies, even without in-depth IT knowledge.
