AFAK and PENKO developed a CRANE HOOK WEIGHER with built-in dynamic compensation.

Knowing what's on the hook under all circumstances, regardless of movements and anywhere, this instrument takes care of that. There is a built-in patented compensation system that not only compensates for accelerations and decelerations, but also ensures automatic adjustment to the local acceleration of gravity. The compensation uses PENKO's specialty, fast measurement with a high internal resolution. Thanks to this feature, this instrument is suitable for all freely suspended mobile applications, both in freight transport, maritime shipping and fishing as well as on hoisting equipment. AFAK from Katwijk (ZH) took care of the mechanical engineering part. Their contribution consists of a solid stainless steel housing with protection class IP68 and galvanized, partly also painted, lifting eyes and hooks, so a version adapted to the applications mentioned. Despite its robust design, the instrument weighs only 25 kg. Vulnerable connection cables are unnecessary. The weighing data is transferred wirelessly to a web browser and the battery power allows for 4 hours of continuous weighing.

The scale is available in ranges from 0 – 150 kg to 2,500 kg.
