The compact lockable safety switch CTS has FlexFunction, a new technology: The behavior of the CTS is determined by the transponder actuator during teach-in. When the CTS is taken out of the packaging, it does not yet have any function. Only when a first actuator is placed in the head and taught-in does the switch acquire its function.
Various functions are possible: Does the switch recognize only one unique actuator, or does it recognize all? Is there a set of actuators? How many pieces does the set consist of? This also records whether the OSSD outputs go high after locking or immediately after closing the door.
The possibilities of the patented FlexFunction are limitless. FlexFunction reduces the number of variants, which improves availability and accelerates the purchasing process.
Maximum flexibility was the main development goal for the new CTS. The result is a compact safety switch that still has a high locking force and is easy to install. The floating actuator is suitable for revolving and sliding doors, even with extremely small door radii. With only 135 x 31 x 31 mm and centrally located mounting holes, it can be used almost anywhere.
The LEDs provide the visual interface to the machine operator. By using the multi-color RGB LED, more information about the status of the switch can be read immediately.
Connecting to IO-Link is possible by default using an external gateway. Then there are extensive diagnostic and communication functions and Industry 4.0 applications are possible: Variations in voltage, current and detection range can tell you whether a switch is experiencing problems and may need to be adjusted or replaced early. The part numbers will be sent immediately. If an extraordinary deviation in human behavior and access is detected, the situation can be classified as suspicious, a manipulation attempt can be recognized at an early stage and measures can be taken.

The locking force is a maximum of 3900 N. The nominal load is 3000 N (Fzh / ISO 14119).
There is a version of the CTS that has an optional escape release button on the rear. This button can also be retrofitted. Pressing the button releases the switch and allows a trapped person to escape the room.
Thanks to transponder technology and OSSD outputs, the CTS reaches PL e / Category 4 and meets all requirements of ISO 14119. This makes it possible to create a tamper-free application.
The CTS is suitable for individual and serial connection. Depending on the version, the CTS has one or two cables, with 5- or 8-pin M12 connectors or a 5-meter cable with open ends.
