The new Magna-Power ML series high power DC power supplies
Magna Power unveils the ML series, a new series of high-power programmable DC power supplies of 500kW and 1000kW. With this, they offer a solution for the ever-increasing demand for high-performance high-power DC sources. With the emerging Megawatt applications in the field of electrolysis (hydrogen generation), electrification of aerospace and high-performance radar applications, the demand for solutions with even more power and a higher power density has increased significantly.
The ML Series was developed with the priority of packing as much power as possible into the most compact design possible. The powerful and sophisticated water cooling technology of the ML Series enables a nearly four-fold increase in power density compared to Magna-Power's air-cooled models. The 500 kW models are housed in three 19-inch racks, while the 1000 kW models occupy only five 19-inch racks. A wide choice of options and models is available up to 5000 Adc and 6000 Vdc (floating) per unit.
The Magna-Power ML Series can be paralleled in a master-slave configuration without sacrificing performance. This scalability allows ML Series systems to reach power levels in excess of 10MW while maintaining the quality and reliability synonymous with Magna-Power products.
The robust design of the ML-Series meets the highest demands and is built around the reliable Magna-Power current-fed processing topology that allows these DC sources to be operated continuously up to and beyond their limits. All heat-producing components are now attached to a newly designed heat sink. In addition, the transformers are wound in-house at Magna-Power, with cooling loops that cool the core and windings directly.
With this ML series, Magna-Power once again raises the bar to deliver reliable solutions for megawatt DC applications and continues to be the trusted choice of engineers, researchers and professionals worldwide.
