Defense is making 5 million euros available for innovations in space travel, smart materials and quantum
At the beginning of 2026, Defense will open a new subsidy round for innovative projects within the areas space, smart materials and quantum technologyA total of five million euros is available for Dutch high-tech SMEs and knowledge institutions.
With this call, Defence wants to involve high-tech SMEs and research institutions in the development of so-called dual-use solutions that strengthen the technological resilience of the armed forces.
Interested parties may submit their project proposals between January 5 and 9, 2026. The program will close earlier once 100 applications have been received. An independent committee will assess the proposals and invite a maximum of 30 consortia to submit a detailed project plan, including a budget. The deadline for this second phase is Friday, March 27, 2026, at 12:00 PM.
The assessment committee will announce at the end of May which subsidies have been awarded.
