On Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Hitma will host a free online masterclass on hydrogen safety. During this interactive webinar, gas and flame detection specialist Peter Adema will demonstrate how safety officers, inspectors, and technical managers in the industrial and energy sectors can use hydrogen safely while complying with the latest standards and regulations.

Hydrogen requires a different approach
Hydrogen is playing an increasingly important role in the energy transition, but its properties require special safety measures. It is lighter and more explosive than natural gas, colorless and odorless, and burns with a barely visible flame. Without proper safety measures, there is a risk of incidents, delays, or even plant shutdowns.

Content of the masterclass

In one hour, participants will gain insight into:

  • The unique properties and risks of hydrogen.
  • The most important laws and regulations and recent changes.
  • Practical examples of hydrogen safety in industry and energy supply.
  • How to build a layered detection strategy that actually works.

There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions during and after this interactive masterclass.
