Overpressure valves or air vents are used to equalize the pressure inside and outside a housing without allowing moisture into the housing. Smaller air vents are now common. However, larger diameters, suitable for larger housings, are not widely available. Amphenol LTW is expanding the existing range with 5 larger types with a permeability of 1400 to >10,000ml/min at 70mbar. The models are available in plastic as well as in aluminum, with a breathable membrane or with spring pressure closure, designed as M20, M40 or rectangular 90x72mm.

These IP68 / IP69K tight valves can protect typically larger enclosures such as outdoor telecom / internet cabinets and battery compartments from overpressure, preventing thermal stress and moisture ingress and extending service life.
