Helmholz Benelux presents the new "PLUS" variant of the successful WALL IE firewall and bridge

The use of PROFINET, Ethernet/IP and other industrial OT networks is the standard in industrial automation. These networks offer major advantages over fieldbuses when integrating with the IT domain.

This makes it very easy to connect these OT networks to other Ethernet networks. Data from a higher IT network can also be easily retrieved. The additional consequence of this, however, is that the networks are becoming increasingly larger.

To prevent problems on the OT network, it is important that these networks remain autonomous. This allows us to prevent downtime when there are problems on other installations or networks.

The easy-to-configure gateway “WALL IE PLUS” from Helmholz is installed between the machine and the production network. It serves as a connection point for the OT network.

This prevents, among other things, conflicts with IP addresses and overloading, resulting in disruptions. In addition, you build in an extra security layer that makes the network better protected against cyber attacks.

The “WALL IE PLUS” offers 8 ports with a transfer speed of up to 1000 Mbit/s. Thanks to this high transfer speed, machines and systems with video cameras or IPCs can now also be connected to the factory network.

The WALL IE PLUS offers the NAT mode, just like the WALL IE. This allows machines to be integrated into the factory network without having to change the machine's IP address. NAT mode is used to forward data traffic between different networks. It enables address translation and uses firewall rules or packet filters to restrict access to the underlying automation network.

• Access restriction by packet filter: IPv4 addresses, protocol (TCP/UDP/ICMP), ports, MAC addresses
• Reduction of network load through broadcast and multicast filtering

• Configurable network ports (free assignment to the LAN or WAN network)
• Easy configuration via the web interface
