Hitma organizes free webinar on new generation gas leak detection in open installations
Hitma is organizing a free webinar on fixed acoustic gas leak detection on April 23, 2026. During this online seminar, gas detection specialist Peter Adema will demonstrate how this technology can contribute to the early detection of gas leaks in open and well-ventilated industrial installations.
Gas leaks are often not detected in time
In many industrial environments, reliable gas leak detection is not a given. Due to wind, ventilation, and open structures, gas can spread in such a way that a gas cloud does not reach a detector. As a result, leaks may be detected too late or not at all.
Locate leak within seconds
During the webinar, an alternative detection method will be discussed in which not the gas concentration is measured, but the ultrasonic sound produced when pressurized gas escapes. Using Acoustic Leak Imaging (ALI), a leak can be located within a few seconds.
Within 60 minutes, participants gain insight into:
- the limitations of traditional gas detection systems
- the operation of acoustic gas leak detection with the SonicView system from Distran
- areas of application and boundary conditions
- integration with existing gas detection and safety systems
- what this technology means for safety, compliance, and business continuity
Register
The webinar is intended for, among others, HSE managers, safety experts, and technical supervisors within sectors such as the (petro)chemical, energy, hydrogen, and industrial process industries.
The webinar takes place on April 23 from 10:00 to 11:00, and participation is free.

Those interested who are unable to participate in the webinar live can also register. They will receive the recording of the webinar afterwards.
