Innovative Flyback Transformers in EV Charging Infrastructure

Within the electric mobility sector, remarkable technical progress is visible in power conversion, with the Flyback transformers as stand-out players. These transformers offer cost-effective, high-efficiency power switching for powers ranging from a few to tens of watts. Premo’s new FLYT-004 and FLYT-005 transformers are specifically tailored to on-board chargers for electric vehicles. With adjustable switching frequencies between 50 kHz and 300 kHz and up to 85% duty cycle, they offer adaptive efficiency and high power density.

The compact design is distinguished by its isolated design, resistant to high voltage peaks and meets enhanced safety standards with isolation levels up to 3 kV. These FLYT-004 and FLYT-005, with inductances of 17.5 µH and 15 µH and deliver up to 10 watts of power.

The Flyback transformers play an essential role in the power management of Onboard Chargers (OBCs) in electric vehicles. Premo has a fully robotized production for this purpose to meet both the growing demand and the highest quality requirements.
