Itech IT7900HV High-Voltage 4-quadrant grid simulator
The Itech IT7900HV is a welcome addition to the existing range of high-end grid simulators that Itech can offer. This regenerative AC and AC+DC source is active in the 4 quadrants and this in a high voltage range of 700Vl-n up to 1050Vl-n. With this, the HV version covers test conditions where high voltages are a requirement. The total power can easily be expanded to 900kVA by connecting in parallel.
More and more grid connected devices have to fulfill a bi-directional function. The regenerative nature of the IT7900HV gives the advantage of a significant saving on electricity costs and heat dissipation management during testing. This ensures that the currents flowing back from the DUT with an efficiency of 100% are returned to the grid instead of converting the absorbed energy into heat.
Simple operation with numerous user functions
The combination of extensive functionality with great ease of use is a must to get the maximum potential from a grid emulator. The IT7900HV is equipped with a large color touch screen on which all functions are clearly displayed in icons. From there, it is easy to navigate to the specific operating mode that the user prefers.
In addition to sine waveforms, the Itech IT7900HV provides various standard AC waveforms, such as triangle, sawtooth, square, trapezoidal, overdriven, and harmonic distorted sine waves. These waves can be easily called up from the menu and displayed on the LCD touch screen. You can also easily build and save your own custom waveforms with the Waveform Editor. In addition, in combination with the sequence programming function, users can realize continuous output of multiple waveforms and complex patterns.
With the Recorder function the IT7900HV is able to store up to 7 hours of data with short intervals up to 100ms. In the Trend function the complete curve can be analyzed from beginning to end.
The built-in oscilloscope function with a sampling rate of 10us makes it easy for the user to visualize voltages and currents as a function of time. Up to 6 curves can be shown simultaneously on the display.
On the front of the IT7900HV a USB port is provided to export and import data and waveforms. On the back all communication ports are provided such as USB/LAN/CAN/LXI, but also GPIB and RS232 are possible to use the grid emulator in an automatic test environment.
The Itech IT7900HV series represents the latest generation of programmable regenerative four-quadrant grid emulators with both source and sink capabilities. It can be used for the development, testing and certification of almost all grid-connected devices, especially in conditions that require higher test voltages and where energy is injected back into the grid.
