Accurate measurement, demonstrably secured
UFM from Oud Gastel (West North Brabant) specializes in ultrasonic flowmeters and related measurement technology for industry, the utilities sector, and government. With the expansion of their service workshop at the end of 2024, they have substantially increased their calibration capacity and noticeably raised the bar for measurement accuracy.
A flow rig designed for precision
The core of the calibration service is a fully automated flow rig, developed in collaboration with NMi/VSL and certified according to both ISO 17025 and ISO 9001:2015. The installation is equipped with a laser-cut flow straightener for a stable laminar flow profile, two pumps (5 kW and 22 kW), and continuous logging of pressure and temperature. Every measurement is reproducible and fully traceable to international standards.
The technical specifications at a glance:
| Parameter | Specification |
| Flow rate | 0 – 900 m³/h |
| Max. flow velocity | 5 m/s |
| Pipe diameters | DN15 to DN250DN15 to DN250 |
| Certification | ISO 17025 / ISO 9001:2015 |
| Calibration lines | Fully automated |
Widely applicable
The rig is suitable for virtually every type of flowmeter: ultrasonic/clamp-on, electromagnetic (inline), Coriolis, thermal mass flow, and turbine, vortex, and rotameters. Thanks to multiple output calibration and real-time statistical analysis of measurement uncertainty, every calibration yields immediately usable, documented results.
In the workshop or on location
Calibration does not necessarily mean that an instrument is removed from the line. UF-M's technicians also work on-site using mobile equipment, without disassembly. The turnaround time in the workshop is a maximum of 7 working days. Every calibration concludes with an 'as found' and 'as left' report, including adjustment and full traceability of the measurement results.
Additionally, UFM provides pressure and temperature calibrations, separately or combined with flow measurements.
For whom?
The calibration service is particularly relevant for companies and institutions where measurement accuracy is legally required or operationally critical: the process industry, drinking water and wastewater management, energy companies, and government agencies with measurement obligations.
