Bivar lightpipes are plastic components to transport light signals from one point to another. Using these light guides keeps electronic designs compact and simple, but lightpipes are also inextricably linked to the aesthetics and functionality of the total product.
Bivar offers two types of lightpipes:
- Rigid versions for short distances, made of fire-resistant plastic
- Flexible versions for longer distances, consisting of optical fibres
From the LED light source, the light is guided to a lens at the other end of the lightpipe. The optional ZeroLightBleed adapters prevent light leakage at the LED/lightpipe transition. Bivar also offers a range of selected LEDs that form an optimal combination with the lightpipes, for maximum light transmission.
