To support the construction sector in meeting stricter regulations around sustainability and Building Automation and Control Systems (GACS), FHI, Techniek Nederland and TVVL are making three essential documents available. These tools provide clarity on the requirements of the Green Deal and help building owners, installers and consultants to respond effectively to the challenges and opportunities within the sector.

Challenges and opportunities in the construction sector

The construction sector plays a crucial role in the transition to a more sustainable society, and the challenges and opportunities lie in both the renovation of existing utility buildings and the development of new, sustainable buildings. The Green Deal and the associated regulations place high demands on building owners, while at the same time offering opportunities for consultants, manufacturers, installers, inspectors and specialist companies.

Need for clarification

To successfully comply with the increasingly stringent regulations, sound knowledge of Building Automation and Control Systems (GACS) and the relevant regulations is essential. However, there is often confusion about which steps are necessary to comply with the new laws and regulations. The complex relationship between existing and new regulations, combined with the need for a long-term vision, requires clear guidelines and tools.

New documentation available for industry members

To support the members of the trade associations in these challenges, three documents have now been made available. These documents help the technology sector and building owners to understand and apply the regulations.

1. Design and control guideline for GACS: contribution to energy performance of buildings
This document, drawn up by a large group of members, provides an explanation of the standard texts of the NEN-EN ISO 52120-1 and how to interpret them for the Dutch market. It serves as a valuable tool in addition to the original NEN-EN ISO text. Members of FHI, Techniek Nederland and TVVL can download this document via the member environment of the respective organisations. Please note: this document is available to members in MyFHI or can be requested by email via: info@gebouwautomatisering.org.

2. Whitepaper: Improve business with GACS
This whitepaper is written specifically for the technology sector. It provides insight into the current regulations surrounding GACS and the potential impact on business operations. Through clear text and extensive footnotes, readers are given a complete picture of the requirements and possibilities.

3. Whitepaper: More return with GACS
This whitepaper is aimed at building owners who are confronted with increasingly strict regulations. The document emphasizes the importance of choosing a competent technical partner to create added value for real estate. Here too, text and footnotes provide the most complete overview of the situation.
