New "WALL IE Compact" brings compact and secure solution for machine connectivity

Helmholz Benelux, a leading player in industrial network solutions, is proud to announce the introduction of the new variant of their popular industrial NAT Gateway, the “WALL IE Compact”. This compact and secure solution is designed to improve machine connectivity and provides transparency in production processes for greater operational efficiency.

Integrating production machines into factory networks is a long-cherished wish, but is often hampered by compatibility issues with existing systems and security concepts.

The “WALL IE Compact” from Helmholz is an easy-to-configure gateway that establishes a permanent connection between the machine and the production network. Thanks to NAT mode, machines can be transparently integrated into the factory network without having to change the IP addresses of the machine. NAT mode enables address translation and uses firewall rules and packet filters to register access to the underlying automation network.

The “WALL IE Compact” is therefore also a direct solution (Conduit) for communication with new network segments (Zone), thus achieving secure integration in accordance with the IEC 62443 security standard.

With support for transfer rates of up to 1000 MBit/s for both the factory network and machine communication, machines and equipment with video cameras or IPCs can now be connected to the factory network more efficiently. Backups and large data transfers are therefore smoother and more efficient.

The modern web interface is sleek and user-friendly. Helmholz has deliberately opted for a minimal software footprint, which provides additional security and a smooth user experience.

• Access restriction via packet filters: IPv4 addresses, protocols (TCP/UDP/ICMP), ports, MAC addresses
• Reducing network load through broadcast and multicast filtering
• DHCP server (LAN) / DHCP client (WAN)
• Gigabit network ports
