Elma Electronic has now added six additional high-speed backplanes, which comply with The Open Group Sensor Open Systems Architecture (SOSA) Technical Standard 1.0 and also include the latest fiber optic and RF connectivity. With 2-, 4- and 6-slot options, these 3U OpenVPX backplanes provide all the development options to meet the complex demands of high-performance rugged military equipment.
The new backplanes support up to 100GBase-KR4 and PCIe gen 4 high-speed signals. One of the 6-slot models is equipped with VITA 66.5 optical connectors for the Ethernet switch slot.
These backplanes fit within the internationally supported Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) standardization initiative, which allows the latest technologies to be implemented much faster and at lower costs in the generally conservative but dynamic markets such as defense and space.
Applications include sensor-based systems, surveillance, radar and other beamforming applications, as well as target acquisition and imaging, navigation control, threat detection and process and environmental monitoring.
