Predicting the future is a matter of guessing. Yet sometimes there is something to discover. Because what is Smart Industry all about? Mutual connectivity, or in other words, multiple measuring/control instruments that, thanks to being interconnected, function as one complete control. The PENKO Omega concept offers a “peek” into this future. Despite the numerous innovations in the concept, the basis remains familiar, weighing instrumentation with an accuracy of 10,000 d (0.001 %), a measuring speed of 1,600/s and an internal resolution of no less than 24 bits. Each and every one of these features makes it possible to monitor rapidly changing weights and contribute to filtering unwanted side effects so that dynamic applications can also be optimally controlled. The Omega also has its own freely programmable control (PLC) per rack with up to 16 weighers. Up to eight racks can be connected per system, making up to 128 weighing/measuring systems usable as one control. Cards with inputs and outputs, both digital and analog, are available for this section. Measuring systems for other units, such as pressure, temperature, humidity and the like, can also be checked. These measuring systems can be connected either analogue or digitally. Apart from this, each weigher has its own processing unit with inputs and outputs. This ensures that control takes place simultaneously at three levels, per: weigher, weight control/dosing. control, the non-weight dependent program sequence. complete system, communication with peripheral equipment and higher-level systems. In this way the whole functions as one system, while the three cycle times do not influence each other, which guarantees optimal functionality and flexibility. Possible applications include multi-head filling installations, weight sorting machines, large dosing and mixing installations, the monitoring of extensive goods storage such as in silo batteries and the like. You see, the future has come closer.
