Five questions for Wendy Debets from FHI about the Building Automation Pavilion in the Jaarbeurs

This year, FHI is exhibiting a pavilion for the first time at the VSK+E installation trade fair at the Jaarbeurs Utrecht. From February 3rd to 6th, 2026, you can find the Building Automation Pavilion in Hall 9, stand number 09.C060. Industry Manager Wendy Debets explains what makes the pavilion so unique.

Why is FHI participating as an exhibitor at this trade fair?
The idea came from our members. VSK+E is the largest installation trade fair in the Netherlands, and many members participate as exhibitors. There's a clear link with the core activities of FHI Building Automation (GA), so it's a logical step for our association to be present at VSK+E.

Who is the pavilion interesting for?
VSK+E has traditionally been a trade fair for installers; tough men and women who love to roll up their sleeves. At FHI, we primarily represent the technical design and automation side of buildings: the layer that transforms an average building into a 'smart' and comfortable place. This makes the pavilion interesting for a wide audience: everyone who works on smart, sustainable, and safe buildings. From the architect who creates the first sketch to the installer who lays the pipes.

What does the pavilion look like?
We have a 200-square-meter space with ten booths from renowned GA companies. That's almost twenty percent of our industry's total membership! In the center of the room is an open hall where we host informative lectures on current topics. Think of digitalization, sustainability, safety, and legislation and regulations.

What else is there to do?
“Everything! There are as many as sixteen substantive presentations Spread over four days. Exhibitors are organizing activities at their stands, and FHI is hosting a fun promotion. What exactly is still a secret for now. Rumors are circulating about an interactive digital table and a simulator, but you'll hear the details soon. Thursday evening is the highlight of the show, as we're hosting drinks at the pavilion for the participating companies' business contacts. It's an ideal opportunity to network and informally catch up with colleagues.

What would you say to people who are hesitant to come?
The pavilion is the perfect place to quickly brush up on the latest trends and developments in building automation. You'll get a clear picture of what's already possible and how the industry will develop in the coming years. Moreover, at the pavilion, you'll meet the crème de la crème within our field. There's no better place to network. To exhibitors who are disappointed that their stands are rented out, I want to say that there are still sponsorship opportunities. For the packages and prizes I refer you to our website.”
