In addition to standard housings, Elincom can offer customer-specific housings via our sister company Metric IMS. By designing the housing cleverly, the costs of the injection mold remain low. This makes it worthwhile to have a housing made that is completely to your wishes, even for small quantities, sometimes even a few hundred pieces.
The advantage of a customer-specific injection molded housing is that it creates a unique product, which in terms of appearance matches the application and/or the company. And which is of course also functionally optimally adapted, think of sealing, shape, robustness, color, etc.
Inserts in the mold can optionally be used to add or remove display openings or connector openings. And this also applies to displaying different logos or help texts per production series. Screw inserts can also be included in the injection molding process, which ensures a good seal of the housing, even if it is unscrewed several times.
Metric IMS can take care of the entire process: designing from idea to concept, via engineering to prototyping with e.g. 3D printing. Then developing the mold and having it made, after which series production follows, in-house or otherwise, possibly with packaging and transport.
Where previously larger quantities of housings had to be produced to be profitable, Metric can do this with small quantities.
