Gearboxes for rotary arms, feed and discharge conveyors for food products

Selecting the right gearbox for use in the food industry can be quite a task. The extensive program of Apex Dynamics, in which stainless steel is a standard, is almost always able to provide a suitable solution. We can say that, but it is even more fun when this is proven in practice. One of our customers in this industry was recently featured in one of the trade magazines.

In the magazine Mechatronica en Machinebouw one of our customers – PWR Pack, a manufacturer of machines and robots for use in the food industry – speaks extensively. In the article, their technology manager looks at various developments and explains how they respond to them as specialists. Such as Internet of Things (IoT) applications:

'I think it's mainly an industry push. You can do a lot with IoT technology, but our customers aren't thinking in that direction yet. In addition, we've been recording all the important machine data for a long time. We know exactly how many strokes the robots have made. This allows us to keep a very close eye on when we need to check or replace parts. Because our distribution software ensures that all robots are loaded equally, there's also little added value in collecting information about each individual motor. We can easily integrate it all, but as long as customers don't want to pay for it, we won't start doing it anytime soon.'
