“The malware struck just before the weekend,” says Dick Klaassen of technical service provider Hoppenbrouwers. “It was a global hack attack. Software supplier Kaseya, which provides an update program for other software packages, was the victim. A Russian hacking group, REvil, managed to send a piece of its own malware via this package. (…) That is how this ransomware also came to us.”

In July 2021, technical service provider Hoppenbrouwers Techniek was hit by a ransomware attack. During the Industrial Cyber Security seminar on Wednesday 29 September, Dick Klaassen will openly discuss the consequences of this attack and the measures that were taken afterwards.
