Teracom TCG120-4, a 4G LTE wireless IO module with MQTT support

The wireless IO module is the successor to the popular TCG120. Unlike its predecessor, the TCG120-4 4G LTE, 3G and 2G communications and provides data connectivity in LTE-FDD, DC-HSDPA, HSPA+, HSDPA, HSUPA, WCDMA, EDGE and GPRS networks.

The functionality is generally kept compliant, but with added support for MQTT. The MQTT protocol is widely used for communication between Internet of Things (IoT) devices.

Another important addition is GSM geopositioning. To determine the location of the device, only information from the mobile network is used.

The GSM geopositioning is more inaccurate than GPS, but it works indoors. This functionality is very useful for tracking mobile facilities such as freezers, refrigerated display cases and drinks vending machines.

For now, the 4G LTE wireless IO module only offers for countries using the following communication ranges – B1/B3/B7/B8/B20/B28.
