A structured testing process for embedded software is crucial. The economic or legal damage can be enormous due to a software error. Testing is also one of the most essential parts of the development process within Internet of Things product development. Some time ago, the International Standardization Organization drew up a model for setting up and analyzing data connections between two communicating parties. This model is called the OSI model. The OSI model consists of seven layers, namely: the application layer, presentation layer, session layer, transport layer, network layer, data link layer and physical layer. An Internet of Things device basically uses all seven layers of the OSI model and all layers must be seriously considered when testing.

Functional testing is often seen as very complex and therefore a (too) expensive aspect. In particular, the RF function of the IoT devices is often not adequately and sufficiently tested. The cause is a lack of knowledge of the testing process. Logic Technology In his lecture he will discuss the various solutions for test engineers. After this lecture, you will not only have concrete tools for intensive testing of the correct RF function, but you will also have a solution to keep the complexity and costs manageable.

Hans Baka also recognizes that testing is a cost factor CN Red. In his lecture he highlights the advantages and disadvantages of various testing aspects and methods. The result is to be able to form a recommendation from an appropriate mix of the different testing technologies.
