EURO-INDEX complements its line of PV test instruments with the introduction of the Elektro Lijn PVChecks-PRO. This multifunctional instrument tests the safety and functionality of PV installations according to IEC/EN62446, SCIOS Scope 12 and the InstallQ recognition scheme for solar power systems.
With a single keystroke, the PVChecks-PRO performs a series of tests on a single or series of strings, including a measurement of the continuity of the protective conductor, polarity and an IV check with open circuit voltage up to 1,500 V DC and short circuit current up to 40 A. The device also measures the insulation resistance with a test voltage up to 1,500 V DC, even on live installations. The GFL (Ground Fault Locator) function can be used to find the location of an insulation fault caused by, for example, water or damage in a string of PV panels.
With the optionally available Solar03 remote unit, in combination with the associated reference cell and temperature sensor, the current solar radiation intensity and panel temperature can be logged and communicated wirelessly to the PVChecks-PRO via Bluetooth. With these measured values, the Voc and lsc can be converted to STC (Standard Test Conditions) to determine whether a panel (still) meets the specified specifications.
