The UPBracing Team :

For the past four years, the UPBracing Team at the University of Paderborn has been dedicated to building electric cars. We’re currently developing our latest model, the PX424E, which features several improvements over its predecessor, including a redesigned chassis and an upgraded battery. We’ve also addressed technical issues identified in the previous season and refined them for implementation in the PX424E.

2024 Season:

As members of the UPB Racing Team, we are looking forward to an exciting year full of challenges and opportunities. After rigorous preparation, we’re ready to compete in three consecutive Formula Student events, having secured our participation by excelling in internal quiz competitions and demonstrating our dedication and skills.

Choosing which events to enter was no small task. We carefully evaluated each one to determine where we could best demonstrate our skills and gain invaluable experience. In the end, we chose Formula Student Austria (FSA), Formula Student Czech Republic (FSCzech) and Formula Student Italy (FSItaly). With a good results in Formula Student Austria and a top ten finish in most disciplines in the Czech Republic in 2022, we’re encouraged by our past performance and confident in our ability to excel in these competitive events.

These events not only give us the opportunity to compete against prestigious university teams, but also serve as a platform to showcase our innovative ideas in motorsport. Armed with determination and a clear goal, we’re ready to do our best in the upcoming Formula Student events. The PX424E and Future Collaboration with Eurocircuits: Our forthcoming PX424E has undergone significant transformations compared to its predecessor. Notably, the chassis has been completely new designed. Through rigorous testing and validation, we’ve determined the requisite capacity and subsequently developed a new, more compact battery, maintaining an output of 80 kW while reducing weight and capacity from 7.6 kWh to 7 kWh. Eurocircuits plays a crucial role in our endeavor, supplying circuit boards vital for integration into our car. Beyond low-voltage PCBs, this season necessitates the production of numerous new high-voltage PCBs due to the updated battery. Among these is the BMS slave board, a proprietary development tasked with monitoring temperature and voltage. By streamlining the design, we’ve enhanced both compactness and reliability.
