The Koch PxT-KX is a specially designed short-term UPS for use with drives in industrial environments. The unit connects directly to the DC link of a frequency converter or servo controller and comes into operation immediately during voltage dips or brief mains outages.

The PxT-KX belongs to the PxT family of DC energy management modules, but it is optimized for UPS functionality and is therefore a more economically priced module. For example, the duty cycle is much lower with a UPS than with regenerative braking energy storage.

Important technical specifications:

  • maximum DC link voltage up to 848 V (UL) or 980 V (IEC)
  • peak power approx. 18 kW with a full module
  • expandable with additional energy storage modules 2, 4 and 6KJ
  • can be connected in parallel for larger currents
  • weight only 3.6 kg in the standalone version

The IP20 enclosure is designed for direct retrofit: plug-and-play on the DC link, without extensive commissioning. The system features digital I/O interfaces and an optional communication card (K-Bus).

For machine builders and industrial users, the PxT-KX offers a practical answer to situations with weakened mains connection or critical drives: temporary storage ensures continuity without oversizing of, for example, mains connection or battery systems.
