TDK Corporation (TSE 6762) introduces the TDK-Lambda PH1200A280 full-brick DC/DC converters for use with HVDC (high voltage direct current) input voltages from 200 to 425 VDC. This expands the PH-A280 series, with power levels of 50 W, 75 W, 100 W, 150 W, 300 W and 600 W, with a version for 1,200 W. These power modules are suitable for high-voltage DC systems in semiconductor test equipment, data communication , power lines, industrial and sustainable energy applications with input voltages between 200 and 425 VDC.

The PH1200A280 series is available with five output voltages: 12 V, 24 V, 28 V, 36 V and 48 V. Due to a wide setting range from -40% to +20%, they are also suitable for non-standard voltages. Housed in an industry-standard full-brick housing (61 x 12.7 x 116.8 mm), they have an efficiency of 94% and can operate at full load at base plate temperatures between -40 °C and +100 °C. The converters can be conduction cooled, making them suitable for use in sealed outdoor enclosures or liquid-cooled applications. Three custom heat sinks are available, for use in forced air or convection cooling systems.

The DC/DC converters are equipped as standard with a power distribution circuit and an internal O-ring FET for redundancy or higher power requirements. Remote on/off, adjustable output, remote sense, 12 V auxiliary output and a module-good signal are also available. The PH1200A280 has overvoltage and overcurrent protection, a five-year warranty and can be used up to 5000 m altitude.

The series is fully insulated, with an insulation voltage of 3,000 VAC between input and output, 2,500 VAC between input and base plate, and 500 VAC between output and base plate. Safety certification is to IEC/EN/UL/CSA 62368-1 standards, with CE and UKCA marking under the Low Voltage and RoHS directives.
