A look back

When Helmholz introduced the FLEXtra label 15 years ago, PROFIBUS was the backbone of industrial communication. The FLEXtra PROFIBUS Repeater opened up new possibilities within the network construction of PROFIBUS. It also provided a huge leap in the robustness of the installations.

It was the beginning of a series of innovations that led to an extensive range of repeaters. The series has since acquired a permanent place in the switch cabinet.

Advanced Network Management

With the FLEXtra STAGE PROFINET switch, the world of PROFINET and the IT world with up to 1 GBit Ethernet are connected. The switch automatically differentiates between traffic types. Important frames are prioritized to prevent loss. The supported PROFINET protocols can be easily configured and managed. And for long distances or special requirements, there are FO switches with SFP modules. Via the SFP slots, modules for both single and multimodes can be connected.

With the IP67 series for extreme conditions, Helmholz completes the FLEXtra portfolio. These switches are dust and waterproof and offer the durability that is often needed.
