New cabinet must initiate a national agreement for human capital
Claudia Reiner, on behalf of Taskforce Bouwagenda, Loek Hermans, on behalf of the Top Sectors and Doekle Terpstra, on behalf of the Technology Pact, have called on the new cabinet to initiate a national agreement for human capital. Within this agreement, entrepreneurs, workers, governments and educational institutions must invest together in learning, innovation and work. With this, the coalition wants to ensure that the current and future workforce can deal with the technological developments that come their way and will play a role in all jobs. The two most important pillars of the agreement are permanent development and connecting education with entrepreneurs and governments. In their call, the coalition asks the future cabinet to develop policy for business, employment, and knowledge and innovation in a coherent manner. They further advocate regional communities where education, business and other partners work together on learning, working and innovation. Space and opportunities must be created to achieve real impact through regional tailor-made solutions with regard to investments in education and the labor market. The call for a national agreement is supported by other coalitions, such as Start-Up Delta, Nuffic, Katapult and Smart Industry. Companies such as Tata Steel, Siemens, ASML, Shell, LastMason and Ziggo also endorse the joint vote.
