Newland has a new long range OEM module: the N1-ER. Up until now there are almost no comparable OEM modules available on the market.
The new N1-ER is a scan engine in a compact housing but with a 6th generation decoder chip with an extended scanning range which makes the performance exceptional. Even 1D and 2D barcodes of poor quality are recognized well and barcodes that are shown on a screen. The reading distance is up to 1400mm, a laser spot makes aiming at a long distance easy. In combination with the extremely small form factor of 23.8×10.5x7mm and the low power consumption of 11.8mA in standby and 176mA during use, the N1-ER is unique.
The serial interface to downstream systems can be implemented with the stable and proven RS232 interface or in USB which is more suitable for higher data rates. An evaluation board is available.
The N1-ER opens up a wide range of new possibilities, especially for mobile devices, payment terminals, wearable devices, access control, conveyor belt scanning, etc.
