In medical devices, the battery is a critical system component. Reliability, safety, and predictable behavior over the entire lifespan are essential, especially in wearable and life-critical applications. Battery solutions must therefore be an integral part of the system design and meet both technical and regulatory requirements.

Tefoo develops interchangeable hard-case smart battery packs with voltages from 3.6 V to 14.4 V, intended for medical and industrial applications. The robust housings enable safe replacement, while integrated protection circuits, cell balancing, and an advanced Battery Management System (BMS) ensure controlled charging and discharging. The BMS supports features such as accurate State-of-Charge determination, fault detection, and communication via SMBus, simplifying system diagnostics and maintenance. Hot-swap support increases the availability of medical devices during use.

In addition to functional safety, quality assurance and continuity of supply are crucial. Tefoo operates according to ISO 13485 and supplies battery packs that comply with standards such as IEC 62133 and UN 38.3, which supports validation and certification. By designing on a platform basis, battery packs can be reused across multiple projects, ensuring product lifecycles of ten years or more remain manageable.

The solutions are used in ventilators, patient monitors, AEDs and portable diagnostic systems, among others, where safety, traceability and long-term availability are central.
