Main changes in IEC 61000-4-4 and 4-5 standard
The evolution of electronic technology has made it necessary to revise various EMC immunity standards. This is to ensure that all equipment can continue to function properly and safely. to cover the current threats that the equipment will be exposed to in real life. An immunity test shows the extent to which a device is resistant to electromagnetic radiation.
José Fernansez Arevalo from Ametek (on behalf of Accelonix) discusses in his presentation the most recent and most important changes in the standards IEC 61000-4-4 (Burst) and IEC 61000-4-5 (Surge) and the effects this has on the test setup, calibration or test equipment & accessories .
IEC 61000-4-4 is the International Electrotechnical Commission's immunity standard based on fast electrical transients/bursts and the IEC 61000-4-5 is the surge immunity standard.
