CBS: First week of April shows increase in bankruptcies
Week 14 (from March 30 to April 3) shows an increase in the number of bankruptcies. A total of 69 companies and institutions went bankrupt. That's 25 more than in week 13.
Of all industries, the catering industry had the largest number of bankruptcies, namely 15. This is by far the highest number of bankruptcies per week in this industry so far in 2020. Furthermore, 13 companies have been declared bankrupt in the trade.
That reports CBS. During the corona crisis, the statistical office publishes weekly figures on the development of the number of bankruptcies declared by courts.
In the first 14 weeks of this year, 836 companies and institutions were declared bankrupt. The CBS figures show that there are 8 fewer than in the same period of 2019. The trend from 2019 onwards is fairly flat.
