Citizen has expanded its “Upward-lighting Multicolor LEDs” portfolio with the CL-V501, a compact RGB LED of 1.6×1.4mm.
Through new development and new production methods, Citizen has succeeded in realizing an SMD multi-color LED that displays a natural white color with a high color mixing property.
The CL-V501 has a surface area of only 2.24mm2 while the predecessor was almost half the size.
Due to the compact design, the individual three RGB diodes are located close to each other, which results in a greatly improved color mixing. The CL-V501 also has a high brightness. Together this results in a beautiful light image, even in white light.
This CL-V501 RGB LED can therefore also replace the more expensive and larger RGBW LEDs.
These LEDs are used for lighting or as a status indicator, for example mood lighting in cars, for displays, game consoles and household appliances.
