Measure sulfuric acid and oleum concentrations without drift or recalibrations
Measuring high concentrations of sulfuric acid, and ultimately also oleum, is known to be a difficult measurement. Conventional measuring methods, such as density measurement, do not provide accurate results. Moreover, they require a lot of maintenance.
With a refractometer you have an analyzer with a very large measuring range. High process temperatures of up to 150°C are no problem for a refractometer. You monitor and control the concentration of H2SO4 during each step in the process (“drying”, “absorption” and “dilution”). When oleum forms, gas bubbles are sometimes released. A refractometer is not affected by this and guarantees you a stable inline analysis, in real time.
