To successfully use innovative technologies and use data as fuel for a Smart Building, a new way of thinking is required. Many organizations are stuck in application-focused working and thinking. They stack system upon system and thus build a complex infrastructure to manage buildings, but also the ICT infrastructure. This accumulation is reflected in decreasing flexibility and increasing cost structure. The real value is not in the systems and applications (read: application-focused thinking), but in the data!

Organizations will therefore have to start thinking and working data-centric. Based on a data-centric mindset, a digital value chain is created in which data is used to guide and inform. In order to realize this idea, a Smart Building foundation is of great importance. The basis for a Smart Building is based on safe, stable and reliable building-related installations and a stable and secure ICT infrastructure that offers different groups of users freedom of movement in a building and where all systems work smoothly with each other from 1 IP infrastructure.

During the Bits, Bricks & Behavior conference, two experts from Ventus IT professionals (Abdulmohaimen Amer and Edwin Koose) provide insight into how data can be used as fuel for a Smart Building. Abdulmohaimen is a renowned data scientist, Edwin Koose is an expert in realizing the digital possibilities of the future.
