The DBCA | Dutch Building Commissioning Association has been active on LinkedIn for some time now, the company page of the DBCA foundation has almost 500 followers. The usefulness and necessity of commissioning in the built environment is increasingly recognized and the support is increasing.
DBCA | Dutch Building Commissioning Association
The Dutch Building Commissioning Association (DBCxA) has been a recognized non-profit organization since 2013. The DBCA aims to promote the acceptance and application of commissioning as an efficient method for performance assurance of buildings and homes in the Netherlands.
Register of commissioners
In December the register of commissioners was launched, commissioning managers and specialists with a diploma obtained at TVVL can register in the register. The Commissioning process includes various activities (from control, inspection to transfer), which is described in a commissioning plan, to be carried out by various officials. The register distinguishes between:
- Commissioning Manager
- Commissioning Specialist
The commissioning manager is responsible for the commissioning plan and reporting, manages the commissioning team and approves the reports and records of completed commissioning activities.
Yardstick for commissioners
The commissioner's yardstick can be found on the DBCA website. This yardstick provides clarity about the core tasks of a commissioning officer, competencies, prior education, professional knowledge and experience.

Through the DBCA LinkedIn page, followers have been kept informed of developments at the DBCA in recent months. In addition to communicating the start of the register, the DBCA announces its own meetings, webinars and events on this page as well as invitations to meetings of the DBCA stakeholders.
