The energy transition not only brings challenges in terms of the load-bearing capacity of the existing power grid, but also has significant implications for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). In applications such as solar inverters, DC fast chargers for electric vehicles and battery storage systems, DC voltage is converted to AC voltage, or vice versa.

Suppression of the EMC interference generated in this process requires the use of AC filters. However, DC filters are also often indispensable, as DC cables can act as antennas for high-frequency interference signals. The availability of standard DC filters is currently limited and these filters often have to be custom-made for specific applications.

EMI Solution offers two standard filter series for this purpose that can serve as a basis:

  • MF610:
Developed for switching power supplies and PV systems.
Suitable for voltages up to 1200Vdc and currents from 25 to 2500A.
    Complies with UL1283, CSA22.2 -no8-13 and IEC60939.
Also available in a low leakage current version, which does not have the Y-capacitor.
  • MF620:
Developed for power line filtering in DC chargers.
Suitable for voltages up to 1500Vdc and currents from 150 to 1600A.
    Complies with IEC61851-23, UL2002 and UL60939-3.

EMI Solutions also offers application-oriented adjustments to ensure optimal operation of the filters.
