Every year organizes the Dutch Trade Association for Building Automation the Bits, Bricks & Behaviour conference. The aim of the conference is to address developments in building automation and to bring end users into contact with suppliers of products/services.

Building owners, real estate investors, project developers, directors and facility managers are invited to share knowledge with each other and create awareness about the possibilities for a more sustainable Netherlands. The technical improvement of buildings is an extremely topical opportunity for building owners, facility managers and users. The Bits, Bricks & Behaviour conference can boast an annually increasing interest and increasing number of visitors.

The conference will take place at the same time as the event Smart Homes & Intelligent Buildings. Visitors have access to both programs and the common information market.

The Bits, Bricks & Behaviour programme focuses on knowledge transfer in technology (Bits), buildings (Bricks) and behaviour and applications of end users (Behaviour). These three themes will be filled in during the lecture programme in the form of three tracks. Questions that will be addressed are: what influence does technology have on the construction and real estate sector? What are the benefits of building automation for stakeholders? How does building automation promote more productivity and less business downtime? And in what way can you give a building a different function with the help of technology? Other themes will also be discussed, such as the Internet of Things, cyber security, digitalisation, sustainability and the energy transition.

Piet van Veelen, Chairman of the Dutch branch organization for Building Automation: “Cooperation is the basis on which we must face the challenges of the coming decades. The climate issue forces us to work integrally and cooperatively. We must ask ourselves the question: “What is the place of technology”, what do we want to achieve is an essential ethical question, which we must then fill in technologically as well as possible”.

Over the years, the Bits, Bricks & Behaviour conference has developed into the conference to gain knowledge about building automation and building management systems. Leading companies in the field of building automation present themselves in lectures and on the information market with products, services and innovations from the sector. The aim of the conference is to address developments within building automation, but also to bring end users into contact with suppliers of products/services. Building owners, real estate investors, project developers, directors, facility managers and other stakeholders are invited to share knowledge with each other and create awareness about the possibilities for a more sustainable Netherlands.

The Dutch Association for Building Automation represents the interests of the affiliated companies. In addition to commercial and business interests, this also includes other business-oriented interests. Sharing the common interest ultimately contributes to higher quality and broader support for building automation as an entity and installation technology as a whole.
