The Italian manufacturer Elettrotest is launching a new line, the XPS series (eXtreme Power Supply). This line consists of three models with a power range from 18kVA to 67kVA. With extreme performance in terms of stability, accuracy and purity, this Elettrotest is in a class of its own, even with fully capacitive or inductive loads. Varying and pulsating loads are also no problem, the XPS ensures a stable voltage within half a period. What makes these high-power power supplies so special is the ability to supply inrush currents that are up to 2x higher than the nominal current. Even if the requested current exceeds this value, the voltage is temporarily reduced to continue to guarantee proper operation.
This makes the XPS very suitable for processing inrush and inrush currents. This makes the power supply an ideal partner for testing all kinds of motors and switching power supplies. Partly due to the large frequency range up to 1000Hz, the XPS is ideal for testing 3-phase high-speed induction motors that are frequently used in mechanical engineering. Electrical systems in aviation that work with frequencies up to 800Hz can also be tested easily and accurately with the XPS.
Another striking novelty is the intuitive graphic touchscreen with a clear open menu structure for easy operation. The voltage, the phase angle between the phases and the frequency can be set independently per phase. Data can be saved with a USB stick and a LAN, RS-485 and RS-232 interface is provided for automatic testing.
