The value of a well-designed human machine interface
A user-friendly machine interface can make the difference in your market. The added value for the users lies in the right choices for the techniques, the design and the functionality. In the seminar Human Machine Interface attention is therefore paid, among other things, to Value Engineering. With the expertise of all speakers, opportunities are offered to optimize the Human Machine Interface. The presentations start with a practical example about talents and qualities from the Huijbregts Group.
The six speakers in this seminar mainly tackle practical issues. It's about the value for the users. But who are they? Is it the value for the machine operator, the service technician or the facility manager? In addition, users will wonder which functions can be realized at what cost and within the technical possibilities.
Using an inspiring example from the design practice of GBO Bas Berkhout provides insight into experiences, do's and don'ts in the search for the optimal human machine interface.
Timme Hendriksen van Value FM discusses Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE). That is one of the most powerful optimization tools available. In the Netherlands we use it little compared to Germany (Wertanalyse) and Asia.
With VAVE you investigate with a multidisciplinary team how the ratio between functionality and costs can be optimized. Are there features, functions or performance that the customer is willing to pay more for? Or the other way around: which parts of your product add little or nothing to customer value but do cost (disproportionately) money?
VAVE facilitates the search for more cost-effective implementations of your design. By involving not only your own people but, if possible, also your customers, clients and suppliers in a workshop, they will help you to be more successful and you will become a welcome chain partner.
